Taking Our Next Step

It was a good Year. Our invitation to take part in Britain in Bloom was a feather I our cap, as a Bloom group and more importantly as a town. We are delighted with the award of a Silver Gilt Medal.

Throughout 2006/7 we made great strides forward in improving and promoting Todmorden. Hopefully we left around our town some pleasant projects such as Fielden Wharf, Patmos Gardens, the Railway Station, St Mary?s church grounds and our work with school children and other groups in the community to name a few. These improvements will be the legacy of our work over the years to provide the foundation for future improvements.

The new year 2007/8 now begins for all of us, including the people of Todmorden.

Britain in Bloom judges were impressed with the tidiness of the town and with your help we can keep up the standard: even better we can improve with both litter and keeping down the weeds.

Our dog poo campaign will not end and we must all be more aware of how important it is to clean up after our dogs. Litter is the simplest thing to deal with, either place it in one of the litter bins around town or take it home , and this include the contents of the ashtray in your car.

Graffiti should be reported to the local graffiti hot line 08452 457000.

Now on to a new year beginning with autumn and winter planting.
