Do think carefully about your garden bedding schemes for this year; a sustainable approach is preferred by the 'Britain in Bloom' judges. Do ask your child's classteacher or head teacher if their school has visited Ferney Lee Wildlife Garden. The garden is undergoing a big overhaul this year, with leaflets and information boards planned. Excellent teachers packs are available for schools on enquiry to Ferney lee School ( tel: 01706 812412) A visit this spring / summer promises to be a richly rewarding experience!

But hurry!

Your school

will be needing

to make plans for this

NOW!

DO get out your pots and freshen up your hanging baskets now! You can do this by removing the top two inches of soil and replacing with fresh potting compost.

Perhaps you fancy the idea of brightening them up with colourful hardy primulas and pansies? Choose plants with plenty of healthy green leaves and a cluster of fat buds down in the centre

as well as a show of blooms.

More flowers can be encouraged by nipping out the dead flowers with thumb and forefinger.

                                                 HAVE FUN !
