Mentors Help Weed Out Any Problems

OUR Britain In Bloom

judging date is getting nearer and the whole group is working even harder to ensure that Todmorden looks absolutely fantastic, and that all the tasks we have undertaken are complete for Wednesday, August 8.
In the month of June we will have had two mentoring sections with Britain In Bloom mentors. The first session of five hours was spent walking around the town, identifying areas of weeds, graffiti and paintwork that needed out attention, river and canal clearance and litter.
On the next mentor visit our mentors will carry out a mock judging adhering strictly to time and judging procedures.
Our town is improving by the day thanks to many local people and businesses.

- The closing date for our Where In Todmorden competition is Saturday, June 30, so be sure and hand your completed entries in to either Todmorden Tourist Information Centre, Marshall's Menswear (17-19 Burnley Road, Todmorden), or Bracewell?s Butchers, Todmorden Market Hall, on or before that date.

Patmos Garden-also a place to learn

- This week we launch our gardening competition for both businesses and private individuals.
This year there are two new categories. Best Small Street is aimed at streets without gardens throughout the town who have made great efforts with containers and baskets to brighten up their streets. The other category is Best Children's Patch. Many children have their own small patch of garden and we would love to have them enter this section.
You can find a copy of the entry form in this weeks edition of the Todmorden News - Page 4 - and further entry forms will be available at Todmorden Tourist Information Centre.
Judging will take place the last week in July and the first week in August. Good luck, everyone!

Little things you can do to help Todmorden a lot:
- Keep your part of Todmorden as tidy as possible. Don't forget all eyes will be on Todmorden. Together we can make it happen.
